The City of Palm Springs is seeking input from residents to help shape the future of the Palm Springs Parks and Recreation system. The first in a series of Parks and Recreation Master Planning Workshops will take place on Thursday, Feb. 22. The workshop, led by Kounkuey Design Initiative, will be an informational and interactive meeting held at the Palm Springs Pavilion from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Yvonne Wise, the City's Director of Parks and Recreation, emphasized the importance of community involvement in the planning process. "With your input, together, we can make our Parks and Recreation system more accessible, sustainable, and enjoyable for everyone," she said.
The City recognizes the significance of gathering broad community input to create a comprehensive and inclusive master plan. This plan will reflect the recreational needs and priorities of Palm Springs neighborhoods. In addition to the workshops, the City will also hold a series of community engagement sessions at various special events over the next several months.
Residents are encouraged to attend the upcoming workshop and share their ideas and suggestions. This is an opportunity for the community to have a direct impact on the future of their parks and recreation facilities. By participating in this process, residents can help craft the vision and develop a roadmap for the future of Palm Springs' parks and recreation system.
