This holiday season, Agua Caliente Casinos continued their tradition of the Angel Tree Shelter From the Storm toy drop. The annual charity drive, conducted through the Agua Cares program, enables Agua Caliente team members to support the local community. On December 13, more than 300 gifts were delivered by Agua Caliente team members to Shelter From the Storm’s offices in Coachella Valley.

Each Angel Tree client was granted three to four wishes. With assistance from supportive staff across all three casino properties, hundreds of holiday wishes will be fulfilled on Christmas morning.

“We are humbled and honored to continue to be the beneficiary charity of the Aqua Caliente Cares holiday gift drive/Angel Tree,” said Angelina Coe, Executive Director of Shelter From the Storm. “Over the past 15 years they have provided over 3,000 gifts to survivors of domestic violence and their children. Thank you just does not seem sufficient. It truly makes the holidays merry and bright for those facing some of their darkest times.”

Agua Cares fosters a spirit of giving back to the community each year and provides an opportunity for nearly 3,000 team members at Agua Caliente Casinos to support Shelter From the Storm, Coachella Valley’s only comprehensive domestic victim assistance service.

“Our team at Agua Caliente realizes the significance of the Angel Tree Toy Drop, and each year they give so much to help families in need,” said Saverio Scheri, Chief Operating Officer at Agua Caliente Casinos. “This is such an important cause year-round but especially during the holiday season. The Agua Caliente family of team members have gifted toys, clothing, and more to local families in support of our community.”

Every holiday season, team members from various departments come together to deliver hundreds of gifts such as toys, home appliances, cooking essentials, and other necessities for families in need. Many families do not expect “Santa” to find them and deliver presents; thus it is heartwarming when they wake up and see exactly what they asked for.

“The partnership we have established with Shelter from the Storm over the past 15 years extends the possibility of a bright future and hope for their clients,” said Robin Stone, VP of Human Resources at Agua Caliente Casinos.

Agua Caliente Casino plans on continuing its partnership with Shelter From the Storm indefinitely and looks forward to making more wishes come true for years to come.
