The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is set to reopen on Friday, October 18, 2024, a day earlier than initially planned. The first tram will depart at 10:00 a.m., with the last tram ascending at 8:00 p.m. and descending at 9:30 p.m. Trams will run every half hour.
During the maintenance closure in 2024, several key projects were completed. These included replacing four tension ropes, conducting maintenance and testing on the gearbox, and repositioning track ropes.
General Manager Nancy Nichols stated, “We are pleased to announce that our reopening date has been moved up by one day.” She expressed gratitude to visitors for their patience while the Tramway Systems team completed essential projects. Nichols added, “We eagerly anticipate welcoming both new and returning visitors to the Tramway and the beautiful Mt. San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness.”
