The Palm Springs International Film Awards will honor Colman Domingo with the Spotlight Award, Actor for his performance in "Sing Sing." This marks the second consecutive year that Domingo has been recognized at the festival. Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi praised Domingo's work, stating, "We are so thrilled to honor the remarkable talent of Colman Domingo at the Palm Springs International Film Awards for the second year in a row. In Sing Sing, Colman Domingo delivers another outstanding performance based on the true story of the wrongfully convicted Divine G, who finds purpose in prison through stage acting."

Domingo joins other honorees this year including Emilia Pérez, who will receive the Vanguard Award alongside director Jacques Audiard and actors Karla Sofia Gascón, Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, and Edgar Ramírez. Past recipients of the Spotlight Award include Bryan Cranston for "Trumbo," Brendan Fraser for "The Whale," Andrew Garfield for "Hacksaw Ridge," and Domingo himself for "Rustin" last year.

In "Sing Sing," an A24 film directed by Greg Kwedar and executive produced by Domingo, he portrays Divine G., a man imprisoned at Sing Sing who finds purpose through acting. The film features an ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated actors.
