The Palm Springs International Film Society has officially scheduled the 37th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival from January 2 to January 12, 2026. The event is set to commence with the Film Awards at the Palm Springs Convention Center on January 2. Film screenings will start the following day, including the Opening Night presentation, and wrap up with Best of Fest and special programming on January 12 and 13. In addition, the Palm Springs ShortFest remains on track for June 24-30, 2025.

The festival is recognized as a significant precursor in the lead-up to the Oscars. Nearly all honorees from the 2025 Film Awards received Academy Award nominations, with Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin, Mikey Madison, and Zoe Saldana among those who secured Oscar wins following their accolades at the festival. Feature films such as “I’m Still Here,” “Flow,” and “No Other Land” were showcased, each receiving acclaim in their respective categories. The ShortFest also featured “I’m Not a Robot,” which won Best Live Action Short.
