Riverside Sheriff's office finds missing man after extensive search

On June 19, 2025, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Hemet Station was alerted to a missing 61-year-old man from the 38000 block of Overton Road in Sage. The search operation commenced immediately and lasted three days.

The individual was located alive on June 21, 2025, in the Sage area. He received medical evaluation and treatment at a nearby hospital before reuniting with his family.

Support for the search came from several county and state rescue teams, including those from Orange County, San Diego County, San Bernardino County, and a state-level team. Appreciation was extended to various units for their efforts: "Special thanks go to the Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit, Desert Search and Rescue, Bear Valley Search and Rescue, West Valley Search and Rescue, Victor Valley Search and Rescue, Rim of the World Search and Rescue, San Diego Sheriff Search and Rescue," as well as "the San Diego Mountain Rescue Team."

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office advised caution when entering mountainous areas due to rapidly changing weather conditions.

The investigation remains ongoing with no further details available. The Overton Road area was temporarily closed during the operation but has since reopened.
