Sunnylands announced on Apr. 23 that its free outdoor movie series, Films in the Gardens, will return in May with three films presented under the theme “Growing Wild.” The event is inspired by the current exhibition, Curating Canopy: Trees at Sunnylands.
The film series will take place on three consecutive Friday evenings in May, with each screening beginning at 8 p.m. The schedule includes “The BFG” (2016) on May 1, “Where the Wild Things Are” (2006) on May 8, and “The NeverEnding Story” (1984) on May 15. Gates open at 7 p.m., and admission is free without a reservation requirement. Attendees are encouraged to carpool and bring their own lawn chairs or blankets as no food or seating will be provided. Large coolers, alcohol, smoking, and pets are not allowed. Films may be canceled due to weather conditions such as rain or strong winds.
Films in the Gardens is organized in partnership with the Palm Springs International Film Festival and takes place at Sunnylands Center & Gardens located at 37977 Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage.
