On December 5, 2025, deputies from the Colorado River Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team attempted to stop a bicyclist in the 200 block of North Lovekin Boulevard in Blythe. The individual, identified as Eduardo Vasquez, 46, of Blythe, did not comply and fled into an apartment complex. Deputies located and arrested him without incident.
According to authorities, a search led to the discovery of a backpack containing a loaded handgun, ammunition, body armor, over a pound of methamphetamine packaged for sale, and more than 62 grams of marijuana.
Vasquez was booked at the Blythe Jail on several charges: possession for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed, felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of ammunition.
