On June 13, 2007, deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station responded to a home invasion robbery and shooting on Mariposa Avenue in Mead Valley. Andres Valdes, 51, was found with gunshot injuries and pronounced dead at the scene. Other victims had minor injuries after being assaulted during the incident. Masked suspects entered the property intending to commit a robbery, leading to Valdes’s death after a physical altercation.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Central Homicide Unit took over the investigation but initially faced challenges due to limited leads and evidence, causing the case to go cold without arrests.
In February 2025, investigators reopened the case. With assistance from the Riverside County District Attorney’s Gang Impact Team, several suspects were identified and arrested. On July 5 and July 6, Hill and Tucker were arrested in Riverside for murder charges. Dennis Haynes was arrested on July 14 in Phoenix, AZ; Kenneth Haynes was also detained on July 14 in Beaumont, TX; Crutchfield was apprehended on July 21 in Belton, TX—all for murder warrants related to this case. The out-of-state individuals will be extradited to Riverside County.
The investigation is ongoing with no further information available currently. Those with information are encouraged to contact Master Investigator Darryl Robertson or Deputy Andrew Lucifora at 951-955-2777.
