A 13-year-old boy from La Palma, identified as Jacob Labib, died on August 23, 2025, following an incident on the southbound Interstate 15 near Winchester Road in Murrieta. According to information released by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, both the injury and death occurred at approximately 9:33 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., respectively, at the same location.

The California Highway Patrol – Temecula is handling the investigation into the circumstances of the incident. The coroner has confirmed that next of kin have been notified.
