Valley Sanitary District (VSD) will hold a community open house aimed at providing insight into its operations, sustainability efforts, and upcoming infrastructure projects. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at 45500 Van Buren St., Indio, CA.

The open house offers interactive stations where visitors can learn about wastewater treatment processes and participate in hands-on lab activities. Additionally, there will be a chance to see a Vactor truck in action, an essential component for cleaning the sewer system. Attendees can collect stamps at each station, providing them with opportunities to win various giveaways and prizes.

In addition to these activities, guests can enjoy face painting, a photo booth, and facility tours. These tours will showcase VSD’s service vehicles, treatment processes, and infrastructure projects. The event is family-friendly and designed to engage visitors of all ages.

Valley Sanitary District expressed its appreciation for the participation of several community partners, including the City of Indio, Indio Water Authority, Desert Recreation District, Coachella Valley History Museum, Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District, and Desert Wildlife Center.

Light refreshments will be available, and VSD staff will be present to answer questions regarding the district’s operations and future projects.
