The community is invited to attend a luncheon on May 21 celebrating three women recognized for their leadership and service in the Coachella Valley, according to a May 7 announcement from Palm Springs Life. The event, presented by SBEMP Attorneys in partnership with Palm Springs Life, will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Ritz-Carlton in Rancho Mirage.

Former U.S. Senator and Coachella Valley resident Barbara Boxer will deliver the keynote address at the gathering, sharing insights on leadership, perseverance, and empowering women in public life and beyond.

Emily Chavous Foster, editor-in-chief of Palm Springs Life, said, “I’m so inspired by this year’s Women Who Lead honorees. Through their professional achievements, philanthropic efforts, and personal example, they make the Coachella Valley stronger in meaningful ways. We look forward to celebrating them May 21 at our annual luncheon, and are thrilled to have former Sen. Barbara Boxer serve as keynote speaker.”

Since its inception in 2013, Women Who Lead has honored women who create meaningful change through visionary leadership and commitment to strengthening communities. This year’s honorees include Julie Bloom (Chief Operating Officer of The Sunrise Company) as Business Leader; Cindy Burreson (Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert) as Nonprofit Leader; and Priscilla Zamarron (Clinical Simulation Manager at Eisenhower Health) as Rising Star.
