The College of the Desert men's tennis team concluded another dominant season with a 5-0 sweep over American River in the CCCAA men's tennis state championship match Wednesday in Ventura. Joseph Corse and Nathan Caolie each won two points for the Roadrunners (18-1) as they won their 16th match without defeat against community college competition this season.

COD (23-14; 12-11) celebrated Sophomore Day by getting back into the playoff hunt, winning their fourth straight game and hitting their stride at the perfect time, as the Roadrunners grabbed a lopsided win over the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines (18-21; 11-12), 16-5.

COD (20-14; 9-11) got back in the win column after a frustrating loss on the road earlier in the week, a big inning in the fifth and a superb pitching performance from the starter and the relivers, as the Roadrunners stunned the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (26-8; 13-6), 5-1.

COD (7-9; 5-1) took a commanding lead in the Conference standings with a double header sweep of the Chaffey Panthers of Rancho Cucamonga (8-10; 2-2), 1-0 and 4-3.

COD Baseball ends 3 game slide with extras win over Coyotes, 6-5
COD (14-7; 3-4) got back into the win column thanks in large part to late inning heroics, including a two-run homer in the eighth and a strong bullpen, as the Roadrunners put the brakes on a three-game losing streak, knocking off the Cerro Coso Coyotes of Ridgecrest (13-12; 5-5), 6-5.
