COD (9-0; 8-0) grabbed their 49th consecutive Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) win as the Roadrunners ran past the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (2-9; 1-7), 9-0.
In doubles play, the 1's team of freshman Joseph Corse (Murrieta DeCourcey Christian Academy) and sophomore Eita Ishikawa (Yokkaichi (JPN) Technical) won 8-1. The 2's team of freshman Hernan Quiroz (Calexico Vincent Memorial Catholic) and sophomore Matthew Shaw (Baker (LA) Inner City Learning Center) won 8-0. And the 3's team of freshman Nathan Caolie (San Juan Capistrano California Connections Academy) and freshman Ethan Auger (Ottawa (ON) Nepean) won 8-0.
In singles play, Auger was the only player to allow any points in their dominate win, as Ishikawa, Quiroz, Corse and freshman Ian Rabtsevich (Minsk (BLR) Gymnasium 30) effortlessly won in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0. Caolie won his match 3-0 when his opponent retired due to injury.
The next contest for the Roadrunners will be hosting the El Camino Warriors of Torrance on Friday, March 24 in a double header, with the first match beginning at 12:30p.
College of the Desert defeated Mt. San Jacinto College, 9-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
