The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) executed a search warrant Thursday and arrested two Palm Desert residents after finding more than $9,000 worth of stolen merchandise, enough to fill multiple bins.

Deputy Sgt. Jamie Lewis of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said in a press release that two Palm Desert residents had been charged with multiple counts of burglary and other offenses as a result of the investigation, which involved a search of the 73000 block of Olive Court in Palm Desert.

"The search warrant stemmed from multiple burglary incidents that were reported on April 03, 2022," the press release said. "The incidents occurred at a business located at the 79000 block of Highway 111, in La Quinta between the dates of Aug. 17, 2021 and April 3, 2022." The name of the business has yet to be disclosed.

In connection with the crime, authorities arrested Cindy Bauman, 49, and Vincent Bright, 37, and charged each with three counts of burglary, theft by false pretenses and conspiracy to commit burglary. The suspects were booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center.

The Department encourages anyone with information about the case to call Dep. Jeff Post of the Thermal Sheriff’s Station at 760-863-8990 or Crime Stoppers at 760-341-STOP (7867).
