The Palm Springs Police Department (PSPD) has identified and arrested a man for allegedly ramming his silver Lexus into other vehicles Monday night around East Baristo Road and South Sunrise Way.

The department named Juaquin Moraga, 27 of Palm Springs, as the driver who is now facing attempted murder charges, assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism, according to a June 7 PSPD Facebook post.

"During the investigation, officers determined Moraga had intentionally rammed other vehicles, assaulted another driver and attempted to run over a bicyclist," the Facebook post stated.

Police learned the full scope of the violence from several callers regarding a silver Lexus operating recklessly and endangering others. The initial report on the Lexus came in at approximately 6:45 p.m. Additional calls helped officers determine that Moraga intentionally ran into two other vehicles. No one was harmed during the incidents.

Police said that bail was set at $1 million for Moraga, who was taken to the John J. Benoit Detention Center.
