Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 672, a bill that mandates the U.S. Postal Service to assign a unique ZIP Code for Eastvale and other communities nationwide. The legislation now awaits consideration by the U.S. Senate. Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) and Congresswoman Norma Torres (CA-35), who both represent parts of Eastvale, expressed their support for the bill.
“The passage of this bill moves Eastvale residents and small businesses closer toward the single, unique ZIP Code they have been seeking,” said Congressman Ken Calvert. “As we have heard, establishing a single, unique ZIP Code for Eastvale is important for the city’s identity, GPS directions, insurance rates, the collection of sales taxes, and other factors. I’m thankful for the bipartisan efforts of Rep. Torres and my House colleagues who have supported this legislation.”
Congresswoman Norma Torres added that "the passage of this bill is a major victory for the City of Eastvale." She highlighted challenges such as delayed mail and insurance rate confusion due to Eastvale's lack of its own ZIP Code. "I’m proud to have partnered with Congressman Calvert on this bipartisan effort to bring us one step closer to long-overdue recognition for Eastvale," she said.
The effort to secure a distinct ZIP Code was initially proposed in H.R. 1225 by Reps. Calvert and Torres earlier this year before being incorporated into H.R. 672 by Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-26). Currently, Eastvale shares two ZIP codes—91752 with Jurupa Valley and 92880—with its population nearing 70,000 since incorporation in 2010.
