Investigators from the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team made an arrest on Monday following an investigation into four burglaries that occurred in Rancho Mirage last month.

According to Deputy Robert Kelly of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, members of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team identified the suspect as Juan Rodriguez, a 31-year-old resident of Cathedral City.

Deputy Kelly said in a news release that Rodriguez confessed during an interview to committing the burglaries, all of which took place on July 13.

During the investigation, the Special Enforcement Team determined that the four burglaries were all committed by the same suspect who in each case kicked open a door to gain entry into the residence. The press release does not reveal what was stolen.

Rodriguez is in custody at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio for violating his parole and burglary charges, the news release said. In his report, Deputy Kelly says that the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department "have zero tolerance for suspects interrupting the livelihoods of the residents in our communities." As such, Deputy Kelly says that "suspects will be apprehended and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for committing crimes and burglarizing homes in our county."
