Comedian Theodore "Teddy Ray" Brown died Friday at the age of 32 at a private residence in Rancho Mirage, a coroner's report said.
"Teddy Ray was a hilarious and beloved performer. He’ll be deeply missed by the entire comedy community," those at Comedy Central posted on Twitter. He was also credited on Twitter with one of the funniest YouTube videos ever.
According to the LA Times, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Station responded to a call regarding Ray's death at a private residence at about 10 a.m. Friday. The county coroner's office is investigating the cause of death, which is unknown at this time.
Although he died in Rancho Mirage, Ray lived in Gardena, California, the Sheriff's Department said in a release.
Ray made a name for himself about 10 years ago through YouTube videos and performing stand-up acts across the country, the LA Times reports. His break-out moment was thanks to Russell Simmons' Platform, All Def Digital, as well as several viral sketches that turned into memes.
As for recent ventures, LA Times reports that he was in Season 8 of MTV's "Wild N' Out" and HBO Max's "Pause With Sam Jay."
