The Riverside County Sheriff's Department not only arrested a Palm Desert man for a string of residential burglaries, they also recovered stolen property belonging to the victims, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's website.

Executing a search warrant at the suspect's home on Michigan Drive proved to be pivotal in the case, giving deputies enough evidence to arrest Adan Holguin, 36, on multiple charges of burglary, Deputy Sgt. Rovann Cleveland said. The burglaries targeted the Palm Desert Country Club community and occurred between June and August.

"During the service of the search warrant, additional pieces of evidence and property belonging to the victims were recovered," Cleveland said.

The search warrant was the result of an extensive investigation into a series of similar residential burglaries in the same community this past summer, according to Cleveland. The Palm Desert Station's Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) developed leads and tracked down evidence that led to Holguin as the suspect in this case.

The search warrant was executed by BSU with assistance from the Palm Desert and Indian Wells special enforcement teams on Aug. 26.

With the alleged discovery of stolen property in the suspect's home, Cleveland said, Holguin was arrested and booked on multiple counts of burglary, possession of stolen property and felon in possession of ammunition. He has been booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact Deputy Manuel Bustillos or Corporal Marcel Stuhrmann of the Palm Desert Station at 760-836-1600.
