On July 5, 2025, at approximately 2:50 a.m., deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a traffic collision at Limonite Avenue and Beach Street in Jurupa Valley. Upon arrival, officers found two vehicles obstructing the eastbound lanes of Limonite Avenue.
A van involved in the accident had multiple unrestrained passengers. Two of these passengers showed clear signs of trauma and were declared dead on-site. Both drivers, along with other passengers from the van, were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station took over the investigation at the scene. Bryan Cruz-Arenas, aged 23 and a resident of Jurupa Valley, was identified as the driver of the van. He was arrested and booked into Robert Presley Detention Center on charges including two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and one count of driving under the influence causing death or injury. The names of the deceased passengers are being withheld until their families are notified.
Limonite Avenue between Bain Street and Beach Street was temporarily closed for evidence collection until about 11:55 a.m. The investigation is still ongoing, with no further information available currently.
