The Coachella Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) will be hosting a teacher recruitment fair on Saturday, Feb. 25, to fill open teaching positions for the 2023-24 school year.
"Teachers, please join us for our upcoming teacher recruitment fair on Saturday, Feb. 25, at our district offices in Thermal," CVUSD said in a Jan. 31 Facebook post.
The job fair is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to give prospective candidates the opportunity to consider available positions, including English, English for those with learning disabilities, math, science, special education, speech language pathology, and teaching K-6.
Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) held a similar job fair on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Palm Springs Offices, also seeking qualified teachers in diverse categories, according to News Channel 3.
"We want highly qualified teachers in all categories. We're looking for science, math, special education. We really want to make sure that our teachers are building relationships and make sure that we support our community and give them opportunities," Brian Hendra, director of human resources at PSUSD, told News Channel 3.
To attend the CVUSD job fair, candidates are encouraged to bring along a resume and at least three current letters of recommendation as they make their way to the District Office Board Room located at 87-225 Church Street in Thermal.
Before the day of the fair, all prospective applicants must apply online through this link and register through the CVUSD website. Another key is that applicants must hold a teaching credential or be eligible for a credential for the 2023-24 school year.
