CPUC and CDT to host in-person Tribal Consultations for BEAD, broadband funding application to NTIA

On June 20th, 22nd, and 27th, 2023, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and California Department of Technology (CDT) will conduct regional Tribal Consultations for the northern, central, and southern California regions.  At least one in-person consultation will occur in each of the 3 regions of the state. These regional meetings are for Tribal leaders, representatives, or designees, and are in-person only.

The State of California is committed to honoring Tribal sovereignty and supporting Tribal Governments in closing the digital divide in Indian Country. The CPUC and CDT request an opportunity to formally Consult with Southern California Tribal Governments to inform development of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Plan and the Digital Equity Plan. Attending will include senior representatives for California state agencies, and local and regional officials. We hope to welcome Tribal leaders, Tribal technical staff and advisors, as well as Tribal community members.

Registration is not required, but strongly encouraged.

On June 27th, 2023, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and California Department of Technology (CDT) will host a regional Tribal Consultation for the Southern California region, located at Kumeyaay Tribal Community College in El Cajon, California. This meeting is in-person only.
