The Disaster Relief Program, a joint effort between the Greater Palm Springs Association of Realtors and the Realtors Relief Foundation, aims to provide crucial help to individuals who have faced displacement or damage to their homes as a result of the disaster. Qualified applicants can receive assistance for a range of needs, including monthly mortgage expenses for damaged primary residences, rental costs due to displacement, or hotel reimbursement in cases of residence displacement. The program will cover expenses up to a maximum of one month's mortgage, rent payment, or hotel reimbursement, with a cap of $2,500.
The Realtors Relief Foundation, originally created by the National Association of Realtors in response to 9/11, has been instrumental in assisting communities in rebuilding after various disasters, including wildfires and hurricanes. To date, the foundation has helped over 19,000 families stay in their homes. The submission deadline for applications is November 7, 2023, and assistance will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis, subject to fund availability.
