The Palm Springs City Council is currently seeking applications from interested citizens to serve on various City Boards and Commissions. According to City Clerk Brenda Pree, "We encourage all citizens interested in serving on a Board and Commission to apply now as the City is immediately looking to recruit."
The recruitment period is open from now through April 30, 2024. Residents, workers, or students within the City of Palm Springs are eligible to apply. Individuals under the age of 18 will also be considered for appointment.
The City Council is looking to fill positions in a variety of Boards and Commissions, including the Administrative Appeals Board, Architectural Review Committee, Palm Springs Airport Commission, Historic Site Preservation Board, Human Rights Commission, Library Board of Trustees, Measure J Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, Planning Commission, Public Arts Commission, Sustainability Commission, and VillageFest Board.
Appointments to these positions are for a term of three years, with the possibility of reappointment for existing commissioners for a total of up to seven years. All appointees are required to disclose financial information, such as sources of income, property, investments, and gifts.
