Coachella Valley Community to Celebrate 11 Inspirational Seniors on Thursday

Coachella Valley will honor 11 senior volunteers at the 32nd annual Senior Inspiration Awards on Thursday, March 28. The event aims to recognize the honorees' commitment to serving nonprofit organizations and inspiring others to get involved in community service.

Supervisor V. Manuel Perez expressed his excitement for the event, stating, "This event honors an exceptional group of individuals who help to make our communities better." The volunteers being celebrated come from various cities in the Coachella Valley and unincorporated communities in the Fourth District.

The honorees for this year include individuals like Linda Harmon, Juana Romero, Dirk Tacke, María Ávila Hernández, Linda Crowson, Steve L. Ellyson, Phillip La Torre, Marge Dodge, Charles Ara, Lynn Hammond, and Richard “Rich” Ronzello.

The event will take place at the Cahuilla Ballroom at the Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage, with a mariachi performance by Mariachi Flor de Dahlia at 10 a.m. The luncheon will commence at 11:30 a.m., followed by the award program ending by 1:30 p.m.

Emmy Award-Winning Journalist Brooke Beare and Marco Revuelta, Multimedia Journalist with Noticias Telemundo 15 Palm Springs and KESQ News Channel 3, will serve as emcees for the event.

The Senior Inspiration Awards is a collaborative effort between Supervisor Perez and the cities of the Coachella Valley, including Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, and Rancho Mirage.
