Suspects Arrested During a Firearms Investigation

On Thursday, May 2, at 9:00 a.m., the Gang Task Force Officers from Region 2 served a search warrant in the 300 block of 12th Street in the city of Beaumont regarding an ongoing firearms investigation. As a result of the search warrant, Gang Task Force Officers seized Ronald Partain Jr, 54-year-old, and Michael Ortega, 46-year-old, both residents of Beaumont, who are convicted felons prohibited from possessing firearms. Both subjects were arrested and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for various weapons-related charges.

The Riverside County Gang Task Force, a collaborative effort of several law enforcement agencies aimed at combating criminal street gangs, conducted the operation. The San Gorgonio Special Operations Regional Gang Task Force, one of six teams within the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force, comprises members from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Banning Police Department, and Beaumont Police Department.

In light of this incident, Deputy Cooley with the Riverside County Gang Task Force, Region 2, urged the public, stating, "Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Deputy Cooley with the Riverside County Gang Task Force, Region 2, at (951) 766-2553."
