The San Jacinto Mountains will soon be blanketed in snow, signaling the start of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway’s Annual Snow Guessing Contest. This event begins on October 1 and continues until the first measurable inch of snow falls at the Tramway’s Mountain Station, which is situated at an elevation of 8,516 feet.
The contest offers a chance for participants to win four regular Tram admission tickets along with a special Tram gift memento. The first ten entries received with the correct date of snowfall will be declared winners. If there are more than ten correct entries, winners will be selected based on the earliest postmark date.
To participate, individuals need to write their best-guess date on a postcard and mail it to: Snow Guessing Contest, 1 Tram Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262. Only one date per postcard is allowed.
The top of the Tramway will soon be covered in snow, providing a quick 10-minute tramcar ride from the desert floor to a winter wonderland. Historically, there has never been a year without a winner in this annual contest.
