Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, along with the California Natural Resources Agency and the Salton Sea Authority, will host a meeting next week to update the community on an upcoming project at the Salton Sea's North Shore.
The event, named the North Lake Pilot Demonstration Project Community Update, is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29. It will take place at the new North Shore Fire Station 41 located at 99-064 Sea View Dr., North Shore, CA 92254. Attendees can also join via Zoom, with Spanish interpretation available.
This project is part of a restoration effort along Riverside County’s northern shore of the Salton Sea. Riverside County is leading this initiative and has secured $19.25 million in state funding for its execution.
Since 2022, Riverside County has collaborated with engineering firm Dudek on designing the project and conducting geotechnical work.
The meeting aims to provide an overview of the project's progress and invite public feedback. Supervisor Perez emphasized the significance of this session: “This meeting is very important and much needed to inform everyone about this project,” he stated. “We look forward to coming to North Shore to give an update on this project and get thoughts from the community.”
