The Palm Springs International Film Awards has announced that the film "Conclave" will receive the Ensemble Performance Award at its 2025 event. The award will be presented to actors Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and Lucian Msamati, who are expected to attend. The awards ceremony is scheduled for January 3, 2025, at the Palm Springs Convention Center, with the festival continuing until January 13. Silvercrest will present the event, sponsored by Entertainment Tonight.

Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi stated: “Conclave is a thought-provoking drama, one which delivers edge-of-your-seat suspense by way of its outstanding ensemble of actors including Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, Lucian Msamati and Isabella Rossellini.” He added that their performances in Edward Berger’s film are both powerful and multi-layered.

Previous recipients of the Ensemble Performance Award include casts from films such as "King Richard" (2022), "Mary Poppins Returns" (2019), and "Hidden Figures" (2017).

Produced by Focus Features, "Conclave" explores the secretive process of selecting a new Pope following an unexpected papal death. Ralph Fiennes stars as Cardinal Lawrence who navigates a conspiracy within the Vatican. The film also features performances by Isabella Rossellini and Sergio Castellitto.

The Palm Springs International Film Society organizes this annual event along with other festivals like ShortFest in June. Their mission focuses on promoting film art through education and cultural awareness.
