Following an outstanding men's basketball season at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), junior guard Brandon Knapper was honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) with First Team All-Region selection.
"Brandon scored a lot for us from the perimeter and always seemed to make big shots and big plays for us all year long," CSUSB head coach Andy Newman said in a recent release on the school's athletics website. "I am very proud that he is representing CSUSB as First Team All-Region."
Knapper finished first in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCSB)—and 20th in the nation—in scoring with an average of 20.9 points per game, the release said. He also led the conference in three-point shots made per game, averaging 3.36.
Knapper is the second CSUSB player in the last two years to be selected All-Region and the first First Team selection since Lacy Haddock in 2014, the release said.
Additionally, Knapper was recently named a First Team All-American, the sixth player in the program's history to receive that honor; a separate release from the school said.
