A fire broke out in a Palm Springs house on Tuesday with a firefighter and a resident receiving minor injuries, the Palm Springs Fire Department reported.
Paramedics treated the resident at the scene, but the firefighter was taken to a nearby hospital with a leg injury and burns, the department posted on Twitter. A subsequent tweet reported that the firefighter was recovering at home after his release from the hospital.
The Fire Department's initial report said, "Fire units are currently on the scene of a residential structure fire in the 600 block of Via Corta. One resident is currently being treated on scene by paramedics."
After getting news of the fire at approximately 4:30 p.m., fire crews extinguished the flames and remained on-scene to spend a few hours on overhaul, KESQ reported. PSFD Deputy Chief Jeff Vanlierop told KESQ the impacted residence had hoarding conditions.
The fire did not threaten any other homes.
