Following the arrest of an Indio suspect on Monday, the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team recovered property stolen from multiple units at a storage facility last month.

Corporal Phillip Lorton of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said team members recovered items belonging to burglary victims while executing a search warrant Tuesday in the 46200 block of Calhoun Street in Indio.

In a news release from the department, Lorton did not provide a dollar value for the recovered items, but the corporal estimated all the stolen belongings taken from a La Quinta storage facility on Nov. 7 were worth approximately $20,000.

The search on Tuesday comes a day after Indio resident Cristina Rocha, 44, was arrested as one of the robbery suspects, Corporal Lorton said. Taken into custody without incident on Cesar Chavez in Coachella, she has been booked at the John Benoit Detention Center, according to his report.

The day of the crime, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Thermal Station responded at 12:46 a.m. to a storage facility on the 46600 block of Adams Street. Since that day, Rocha has been a suspect although she was not located until Monday, Lorton said.

Once again there is an opportunity for the public to help bring any other potential suspects in this case to justice. Corporal Lorton has asked anyone with information regarding the investigation to contact Deputy Martinez or Deputy Lopez of the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team at 760-863-8990.
