Rep. Calvert announces 2024 military academy appointments

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) announced and congratulated the 2024 Service Academy Appointments from the 41st Congressional District. As a Member of Congress, Rep. Calvert has the privilege of nominating a select group of highly qualified young men and women for admission to the United States Service Academies – Army, Navy, and Air Force.

“I want to congratulate the outstanding students who have been appointed to attend our service academies,” said Rep. Calvert. “Nominating extraordinary students from our region to attend the academies is one of the highest honors I’m afforded as a U.S. Representative. In addition to the students, I want to thank their families, friends, teachers, and everyone who supported them. Our volunteer military is shaped by selfless citizens stepping forward to serve, and I’m humbled by the leadership demonstrated by these students at such a young age.”

The following is a list of candidates nominated by Rep. Calvert who have also received and accepted an Offer of Appointment to our nation's service academies and will be part of the Class of 2028 entering in June 2024:

Navy:

- Carol Han, Centennial High School

- Sophia Campbell, Centennial High School

Air Force:

- Melody Kidder, Murrieta Valley High School (Class of 2023), Currently at Air Force Preparatory School

- Jahnvi Shah, Eleanor Roosevelt High School (Class of 2023), Currently at Air Force Preparatory School

West Point:

- Madison LeFlore, Paloma Valley High School (Class of 2023), Currently at Military Prep-School

- London Smith, Chaparral High School

Each appointee to the Armed Service Academies will receive an education valued in excess of $400,000. Rep. Calvert's appointments to the Armed Service Academies are awarded on a strictly competitive basis through a Congressional Nominations Selection Committee.
