Rocha vs Dominguez set as main event for Golden Boy Fight Night

Southern California’s fan-favorite boxer Alexis “Lex” Rocha (24-2, 16 KOs) will face the undefeated Santiago Dominguez (27-0, 20 KOs) of Ciudad Obregon, Mexico in a 12-round welterweight fight that will headline a special edition of Golden Boy Fight Night on DAZN at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.

Riverside County approves new ordinance regulating Rancho event venues

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved an ordinance affecting large agricultural properties, known as Ranchos, in the Coachella Valley. These properties have traditionally been used by families for outdoor events such as weddings, birthdays, and other celebrations.


House passes FY25 defense appropriations bill introduced by Rep. Calvert

Today, the House of Representatives approved the Fiscal Year 2025 Defense Appropriations Bill with a vote of 217 to 198. The bill was introduced by Defense Subcommittee Chairman Ken Calvert (CA-41).


Air Force announces basing of KC-46 tankers at March Air Reserve Base

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) praised the announcement from the U.S. Air Force to replace 12 KC-135 aircraft with 12 KC-46A aircraft and base them at March Air Reserve Base (ARB). Rep. Calvert, who serves as Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, had previously spearheaded a bipartisan effort by members of the Southern California Delegation in support of March ARB being selected as an operating base for the KC-46 tanker.


Palm Springs begins historical study on Section 14

The City of Palm Springs has commenced a Historical Context Study with the Southern California consultant Architectural Resources Group (ARG) to document the complex history of Section 14. This one-square-mile tract, adjacent to downtown Palm Springs, saw properties abated by burning and demolition from 1956-1969 due to health concerns from federal, state, and Riverside County officials, as well as ongoing development efforts.


Palm Springs officials to unveil new playground equipment at Victoria Park

Members of the Palm Springs City Council will be joined by members of the Measure J and Parks and Recreation commissions for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the installation of new playground equipment at Victoria Park. Military Days scheduled at Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Over 50 miles of hiking trails are available in the Mount San Jacinto State Park. Guided nature walks are offered every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. through Labor Day Weekend. Visitors can dine along the skyline at Peaks Restaurant and Pines Café. CalChamber opposes bill affecting broadband deployment
