The City of La Quinta has announced a 24-hour closure of the intersection at Highway 111 and Washington Street. This is part of the ongoing Highway 111 Pavement Rehabilitation Project, which aims to improve the condition of the highway through La Quinta.

The closure will take place from 5:00 AM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, to 5:00 AM on Thursday, July 31, 2025. During this time, all traffic will be prohibited from using the intersection.

Detour routes will be clearly marked for motorists who are advised to plan for significant delays and use alternative routes such as Avenue 42, Adams Street, and Jefferson Street. Local businesses along Highway 111 will remain open and accessible during the construction period.

"The City of La Quinta understands the inconvenience this closure may cause to residents, businesses, and commuters," a statement from the city said. "Every effort will be made to expedite the work and minimize disruption."
