Calvert: 'The NDAA includes meaningful reforms that will better protect American servicemembers'

The recently passed Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) included a provision by Rep. Ken Calvert that is designed to keep servicemen safer through new reforms and requirements. The NDAA was passed on July 14 in the House of Representatives by a vote of 219-220, according to a a release on Calvert's website.

Riverside County Sheriff on 2020 Thermal homicide: 'A suspect was identified'

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department has identified a Coachella man as a suspect in a Thermal homicide case dating back to July of 2020. In a recent update Sgt. Ben Ramirez named the suspect as 34-year-old Ruben Esquivel and said he was already in custody on an unrelated homicide.


Riverside district supervisor: 'We need... to address the needs of families who are experiencing homelessness in our county'

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors has allocated $7.6 million from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to fund emergency shelter projects in the county, a Board of Supervisors press release said. The investment will facilitate the establishment of eight new housing projects distributed across all five supervisorial districts, resulting in the addition of 241 emergency shelter beds—a 28% increase.
